Oksana Maslova

I am a writer with a background in journalism, and author of books and plays that have been brought to life on the stages of Ukrainian theatres. Born and raised by the Black Sea, where I began my journey as a writer.

My work focuses on stories of personal resilience in times of crisis, exploring how people navigate challenges and find strength to rebuild their lives. For instance, my book «Phoenixes: Stories of Women from Ukraine», published in Czech in 2024, tells the stories of ten women who lost everything, found refuge in the Czech Republic, and managed to find success in their new careers. Currently, I am working on a new book about the inner transformations of women forced to start their lives anew.
