Natalka Cmoc, Canada’s Ambassador to Ukraine since 2023, has a deep connection to her Ukrainian heritage and a wealth of experience in public administration and diplomacy....
In 2018, I moved to Toronto from Kyiv for an internship with the Canada Revenue Agency. I hold a master’s degree in economic cybernetics and have experience in banking and volunteer work. In Canada, I became involved in various volunteer initiatives like helping newcomers with taxes, organizing mentorship programs, and creating online English courses for Ukrainian children affected by the war.
Through internships and mentorship programs, I secured a position as an analyst in the municipal government of Toronto in 2018 and later received a permanent contract in the business planning department. During the pandemic, I worked in senior support centres and isolation shelters, earning recognition from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Committed to professional growth, I completed a Management of International Projects program at the University of Toronto and pursued a master’s degree in public administration at the Royal Military College of Canada. Currently, I work as a senior analyst in the municipal government of Toronto, evaluating the effectiveness of government projects and developing analytical reports.
